Cash for Kids
Cash for Kids Scotland is a grant-giving charity helping the children that need it most across Scotland. Our mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in our communities who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs. We believe that all children should be able to express their individuality, achieve their potential and live life to the full. We work with grassroots organisations that aim to make a difference to young lives, directly supporting families who often have nowhere else to go.
In 2021 Cash for Kids in Scotland East alone raised over £5.1 million for the local community, supporting over 271,000 children.
As a grant giving charity, we help individual children, their families, and support groups, meaning that the money raised really does help a huge variety of local projects and children.
After the success of last year’s Tour de Forth Cash for Kids are absolutely thrilled to be asked to be part of such a fun, positive, and successful event again.
Over the years, the generosity and support from participants, staff, and volunteers of Tour de Forth ensured we had funds to help support more local children. We would love to share with you a story of one family for whom we funded the purchase of a specialised car seat last year.
Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids support local families and their children right across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk. Through grant rounds, they are able to apply for support from day to day essentials for families living in poverty to specialised equipment such as medical beds and electric wheelchairs for children with additional needs.
This is 11 year old Freya who lives with Severe Cerebral Palsy as well as a range of other health conditions requiring 1:1 nursing care at all times. Freya's life is very limited meaning her comfort is paramount and life experiences need to be brought to her. This is who Cash for Kids support and here is how we supported Freya.
In March 2021 Cash for Kids were delighted to grant Freya and her family a princess bed. This is a medical grade bed that would have life changing benefits for Freya and her family. Here is Freya in her new bed looking very happy, comfy, cosy and most amazingly on the same day of delivery by the evening Freya’s heart rate and saturation stats had already improved. The work you help us do really does change lives.
This is just one example of whom, thanks to our fundraisers, we are able to help. To keep up to date with who else we’re helping and our other fundraising activities please follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
